A bicycle built for two…

In neuro today we started learning about Parkinson’s disease and how important early exercise program is for these patient. It can help slow disease progression, improve quality of life, and in some resent research has even been shown to have a neuroprotective effect.  What kind of exercise? Well, this latest research says: forced exercise, that is exercise in which the voluntary rate is augmented and increased beyond what the patient can achieve naturally.

That may sound a bit scary but really what has been found to be successful is tandem cycling…and what could be more fun than hopping on a bicycle built for two:
