So, this mini-mester is all about reviewing the last 2 years in preparation for our comprehensive exam. Reviewing over 6 semesters of content is tough but it also is exciting to see how much we’ve learned and how far we’ve come. It also makes me think about all the hilarious ways we learned some of this info in the first place.
One of my favorite antidotes from PT school was told to me by my classmate Carrie in our first year. We were trying to get a hang of the difference between Varus and Valgus positioning at the knee. Carrie told us a hilarious story about a Russian Pig Farmer, he has lost track of his pig and as you can see his knees are sort of bowed out, so he asks:
BAM – Legs positioned so a pig could fit through? VARUS
Knees knocked in like this: >< VALGUS
