Family: Restored. Happy Father’s Day

To all the dads, fathers, and pops out there…

Happy Father’s Day ❤

One of my favorite pics of me and my dad….see, we are both just a little crazy.

O.K. So, here is my finished pressie for my most wonderful dad.

I put on my old “restoration hat” back on to mend a plack made for my family back when we were living in Japan. We’ve had it for almost as long as I can remember and it is so exciting to give it many more years of hanging in front of the Romagnoli home!

While I was working on restoring this old block of wood, I thought about how my family has changed since the time it was made for us in the Philippines back in the early 90s. Paint chips, wood deteriorates, metal rusts, people move away and pass on but no matter what separates us: be it a few time zones, a country, or the unknowable void between heaven…family is always with you. For something more tangible though, there are always those physical artifacts that make us smile and remind us of all the love shared as that paint was slowly chipping away.
